Author Guidelines

 

Carefully read the Author's Guidelines as follows:

A. General Requirements

  1. Manuscripts submitted to Al-Murabbi: Journal of Islamic Education must be research-based papers that have not been published or are being considered elsewhere.
  2. Manuscripts must be in English or Indonesian. It must be typed in MS Word doc. format; use the 11-pt Time New Roman font; left, top margin 3 cm, and right, bottom margin 3 cm; 18 pt Exact Spacing with A4 paper size; The length is 13-18 pages or 6000-9000 words.
  3. The Manuscripts will be reviewed by subject reviewers, while editors reserve the right to edit manuscripts for format consistency without changing substance.
  4. Make sure that the manuscript is prepared using the Article Template. Use the Online Submission Guidelines for access to Open Journal Systems (OJS).
  5. Manuscripts must be submitted through OJS (Al-Murabbi: Journal of Islamic Education). For confirmation, the Submission Checklist and Statement of Originality must be emailed to the Journal Editor (almurabbijurnalilmuPendidikan@gmail.com).
  6. The Citations and references must follow the style of the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th Edition and use the ZOTERO Reference Management Software (http://www.zotero.org) or MENDELEY (www.mendeley.com).
  7. The Manuscripts should be checked in terms of grammar, structure, spelling, etc. It is recommended to use GRAMMARLY Grammar Checker Software (http://app.grammarly.com).

B. Manuscript Structure

  1. The article structure contains (a) Title; (b) Author Name, (c) Affiliate, (d) Email Address; (e) English Abstract and Indonesian Abstract; (f) Keywords; (g) Introduction (NO title); (h) Research Methods; (i) Research Results and Discussion; (j) Conclusions (and Suggestions); (k) Acknowledgments (if necessary); and (l) References.
  2. Title: The title of the article must be written in a simple, concise, and informative form in a phrase or clause format (Capital-lowercase, Bold, Center, Time New Roman font 12, max 14 words).
  3. Author Name: The author's full name must be written without an academic degree in 12-pt Time New Roman font.
  4. Affiliation: Affiliation (Full name of University, and country) must be written below the name in 11-pt Time New Roman font.
  5. Email address; The Correspondence Author's email address must be written under affiliation in 10-pt Time New Roman font. (Corresponding Authors will handle correspondence at all stages of referral and publication, as well as post-publication; this responsibility includes answering future questions about the Methodology and Materials of the paper). Ensure that an email address is provided and contact details are kept up to date by the Corresponding Author. 
  6. English/Arabic Abstracts and Indonesian Abstracts: Abstracts must be included with each manuscript; they must be clear, and descriptive, and provide a brief description of the problem under study. Also without pictures, tables, equations, or quotes), between 150 – 250 words and written as one paragraph in English with single-spaced Times New Roman 11 font. The abstract should include the background of the research objectives, research methods, and findings. The abstract should end with a comment about the importance of the results or a brief conclusion.
  7. Introduction: This section is to introduce your paper including the background of the research, the problem to be solved, and a review of related findings consisting of 700 – 1000 words (1.5 – 2.5 pages) in Times New Roman font 12 points Line Spacing 1.5 pt with A4 paper size, written without headings. The introduction should include key references to the appropriate work. This states the significant contribution of the research. The introduction should contain the background of the research, the context of the research, a review of the literature, and the purpose of the research (at the end of the introduction). The introduction should explicitly state the research gap and indicate the scientific merit or novelty of the research. All introductions should be presented in paragraph form, not instructions.
  8. Research Methods: This sub-heading should consist of a brief description of the research method; including research design, research sources (population/sample/research participants, instruments used, data collection techniques, and data analysis) without subtitles, consisting of 1 – 2 paragraphs (150 – 300 words or 0.5 – 1 page). Written in Time New Roman font 12 with Line Spacing 1.5 pt.
  9. Research Findings and Discussion: This section will describe the results of the research, followed by a discussion. It should consist of 1500 – 4500 elaborated words (8 – 10 pages). Research findings are explanations of research results based on data analysis with both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The findings section consists of a description of the results of data analysis to answer research questions. Findings should summarize (scientific) findings rather than provide data in great detail. Please highlight any differences between your results or findings and previous publications by other researchers. This section should be explained in several subsections with a detailed description of the findings. First Sub-topic (Finding 1): The author should make sub-topics in bold and capitalize each word. Findings are descriptions of results, and can be supplemented by charts, graphs, diagrams, or tables; Second Sub Topic (Findings 2): Findings should summarize (scientific) findings rather than providing data in great detail. Please highlight any differences between your results or findings and previous publications by other researchers. This section should be explained in several subsections with a detailed description of the findings; Third Sub-topic (Discussion): This sub-topic describes how your findings relate to theory and other research findings. This is not to repeat research findings or theories but to outline the results. The author must point out the novelty of this study compared to others.
  10. Kesimpulan: Bagian ini berbentuk paragraf yang terdiri dari 1 – 2 paragraf (300 – 500 kata atau 0,5 – 1 halaman saja). Ini harus menunjukkan temuan dengan jelas. Ini juga menjelaskan keuntungan dan kerugian dari temuan Anda, dan kemungkinan untuk mengembangkan penelitian.
  11. Pengakuan: Jika diperlukan, Anda harus mengatakan dalam sub pembahasan ini tentang keterlibatan pihak atau lembaga lain atau lembaga lain dalam penelitian yang dilakukan, hanya ditulis dalam 2 – 5 kalimat saja.
  12. Referensi: Setiap sumber yang dikutip di badan artikel harus muncul di Referensi, dan semua sumber yang muncul di Referensi harus dikutip di badan artikel. Referensi harus lebih up-to-date (diterbitkan dalam 5-10 tahun terakhir). Sumber utama yang dikutip dalam makalah Anda berupa artikel jurnal, prosiding, dan laporan penelitian termasuk tesis dan disertasi yang dapat diakses secara online (tunjukkan alamat/URL DOI). Kutipan dari artikel jurnal online minimal 80% dari total referensi yang dikutip. Referensi harus disajikan menurut abjad dan kronologis dan diatur ke font Time New Roman 12-pt, dibenarkan, dengan spasi satu baris dan indentasi gantung. Periksa setiap referensi terhadap sumber aslinya (nama penulis, volume, edisi, tahun, nomor DOI). Silakan gunakan Aplikasi Manajer Referensi (ZOTERO/ MENDELEY) untuk mengelola referensi makalah Anda. Gunakan artikel lain yang diterbitkan dalam jurnal yang sama sebagai model.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
